News item of the week: Amazon unveils the dangers of dodgy AI

While it’s hard NOT to love Amazon (it’s now possible to live a full and meaningful life without ever leaving your sofa), a devious chuckle escaped our lips this week when Reuters broke the news that the firm had to scrap a sexist AI tool. The ‘artificially intelligent’ job application tool was trained largely on data submitted by men resulting in bias against women during interview selection processes. Whoops.
